Peace with God

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;  and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:1-5

I am writing this post on my phone as I sit at an auto dealership waiting on a scheduled oil change. The day started out with a heaviness of heart over the events of the past week in the senseless murders of innocent people, as well as a look at Calvary last night in Bible study. And then, right before we left the house, I got a call from my sister informing me our brother had been taken to the hospital with symptoms of a stroke.

When we got to the dealership for the oil change there were additional hiccups that stretched my spirit even more. Nothing major, just things that make me eternally grateful for God's grace and His peace that surpasses all understanding.

Our world is desperately in need of His peace but so many have no clue of Who He is, or the life changing grace offered through His Son Jesus Christ. As I sit here waiting on the car I look around at the diverse people groups in this space and ask God how I might be a withness for Him in this moment and time. I have shared the gospel preveiously with individuals here, and pray for the discernment and courage to do so again.

What I can do in this moment is see people as Jesus sees them.

May His grace, peace and love shine through my eyes, and if dialogue takes place, may He be glorified.
